MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio said she welcomes the impeachment complaints filed against her.
“I welcome that. Finally, na-file na ‘yung impeachment case na sinasabi nilang i-file nila since last year pa,” Duterte-Carpio stated.
This was her response following the filing of two impeachment complaints in the House of Representatives.
“Okay din ‘yung impeachment complaints dahil ako lang ang tinitira, ang iniimbestigahan nun, ako lang ang inaatake ng impeachment case, hindi na kasali ‘yung mga kasamahan ko sa Office of the Vice President,” she added.
The impeachment cases accuse Duterte-Carpio of betrayal of public trust over the alleged misuse of confidential funds. Another complaint cites culpable violation of the Constitution, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.
