PARIS – Armand Duplantis, the Swedish pole-vaulting sensation, has once again raised the bar—literally and figuratively. On Friday, February 28, 2025, Duplantis set a new world record of 6.27 meters at the All Star Perche event in Clermont-Ferrand, France, marking the 11th time he has broken the world pole vault record.

Competing in the World Athletics Indoor Tour silver meeting, Duplantis began his efforts at 5.65 meters, clearing that height with ease. He swiftly moved past 5.91 meters and 6.02 meters on his first attempts. After securing the victory with a 6.07-meter clearance, he raised the bar to 6.27 meters, conquering it on his first try. This height surpassed his previous record of 6.26 meters, set at the Diamond League meeting in Silesia, Poland, in August 2024.

This marks Duplantis’ second world record in Clermont-Ferrand, following his previous 6.22-meter vault in the city two years ago, which had been his sixth world record. The 25-year-old continues to redefine the limits of pole vaulting, further cementing his legacy in the sport. (Xinhua)
