INIHAYAG ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) nitong Linggo na nagtalaga sila ng 118,000 servicemen sa 361 areas of concern para sa 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) na gaganapin ngayong Lunes.
Ayon kay AFP Spokesman Medel Aguilar, halos isang libo sa mga kasundaluhan ang naka-deploy sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“Aside from the manpower, we also offered our transportation assistance na makatulong dun sa preparation and at the same time yung ating communication system. ‘Yan ang mga isa [sa mga bagay na] we have committed and we have provided the COMELEC to support itong coming BSKE 2023,” wika ni Aguilar.
Idinagdag niya na umaasa ang AFP para sa isang “secure, free, orderly” na BSKE.
“We have to assure our communities that it will be safe through our presence. We are always in support [of] the COMELEC, and to our partner na PNP, together with the PCG, sa mga deployment and mga ating equipment or transportation used,” sinabi ni Aguilar.
Ang AFP ay mananatiling naka-red alert sa buong bansa hanggang Oktubre 31, at handang palawigin ang alerto sakaling kailanganin ito.
