MANILA — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced on Tuesday (11 Feb 2025) that 18,000 personnel will be deployed to secure the upcoming Eleksyon 2025.
AFP spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla stated that the number could rise depending on the situation, such as encounters or ambushes during the election period.
Padilla explained that deployments could be adjusted based on immediate needs, such as unexpected incidents, and that the role of AFP personnel could expand as the election season progresses.
“Our commitment to the Filipino people is unwavering, and we will ensure their safety throughout the election period,” Padilla affirmed, emphasizing the AFP’s dedication to truth, unity, and progress.
