MANILA — Pampanga Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will not run for the Senate but will seek reelection.
“To clarify, I will not be seeking a Senate seat in the upcoming election, as I have no intention of pursuing that role again,” she said.
“I have officially declared my candidacy for a second term as Congresswoman of the Second District of Pampanga, where I am committed to addressing the needs and priorities of my constituency and the province of Pampanga,” the lawmaker added.
Macapagal-Arroyo is a former president and senator.
A total of 13 individuals filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for congressman in the National Capital Region (NCR) during the first day of filing on October 1.
