MANILA — After five long years of hibernation, former lawmaker Bam Aquino on Tuesday (14 May 2024) said he is now ready to run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections.
Aquino was a senator from 2013 to 2019 but lost in the 2019 midterm polls,
placing only in the 14th place.
Handa akong maging boses ng walang boses sa Senado,” Aquino said in an interview on ANC.
He said there are many issues plaguing Filipinos that “were not given much attention” such as the rising prices of goods, low wages, and the education “crisis.”
And I’d like to think kaya natin ‘yan,” he added.
Aquino said he left the Liberal Party (LP) in 2019.
In 2025, Aquino said he will run under Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KANP), said to be the country’s youngest political party.
