MANILA — The autopsy report of the bodies of beauty queen Geneva Lopez and Israeli boyfriend Yitshak Cohen showed that they received two fatal gunshot wounds each, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.
“‘Yung babae ay tama ng bala sa dibdib, sa likod lumabas sa dibdib at tsaka sa kanyang paa, sa thigh. Ang lalaki naman ay may tama ng bala sa dibdib harapan ang entrance, tumagos sa likod at tsaka sa bandang kili-kili,” NBI Director Jaime Santiago said in a radio interview on Sunday (07 July 2024).
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda earlier confirmed that Lopez and Cohen were found dead in Tarlac after they were reported missing two weeks ago.
Authorities said that the motive in killing the two victims might be about a land, Santiago said.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating whether the couple was killed in the same area they were found or their bodies were kept there.
Authorities have arrested two suspects in the said killing but their names are yet to be disclosed.
“Dalawang suspek pero hindi pa nila pinangalanan pero mukhang matibay ang ebidensiya against these two suspects,” Santiago said.
