MANILA — Senator Nancy Binay has called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to deploy more officers in Makati City to address the increasing number of crimes in the area.

Citing alarming incidents of robbery, theft, drug-related activities, and other minor offenses, Binay stressed the need for stronger police visibility in the nation’s financial hub.

“As the financial capital of the Philippines, it is important that we maintain peace and order in Makati, where not only locals but also expatriates and various other visitors frequent the many commercial establishments, offices, and embassies day and night,” Binay said.

The senator noted that residents have consistently expressed concerns over the rising criminal activities in the city.

Makati currently has 512 police personnel, tasked with securing a daytime population of 4.2 million and a nighttime population of 280,150, Binay added.
