MANILA – College of Saint Benilde outlasted San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 91-85, in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday (13 Oct 2024) to secure their eighth win.

Allen Liwag led the Blazers with 19 points and six rebounds, while Ian Torres added 13 points, including three triples. Matthew Oli contributed 12 points, also highlighted by three treys, and Justine Sanchez, Jhomel Ancheta, and Zenric Jarque chipped in nine points each. CSB led by as much as 87-74.

“Our bench stepped up today, a lot of them delivered,” said CSB coach Charles Tiu.

Rafael Are paced San Sebastian with 29 points, while Lauren Gabat and Tristan Felebrico scored 21 and 12 points, respectively. The Stags fell to 2-8.

In the other match, University of Perpetual Help snapped a four-game losing streak, beating Letran 71-61. Christian Pagaran led with 19 points as the Altas improved to 5-6, avenging their previous triple-overtime loss to the Knights.

Letran, now 6-5, fell just behind San Beda University and Mapua University, both tied for second at 7-3.
