MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Monday that the combined effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and Typhoons Butchoy and Carina have resulted in 36 fatalities.

Of these, 14 deaths have been confirmed: five in Calabarzon, four in the Zamboanga Peninsula, two in Central Luzon, and one each in Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

An additional 22 deaths are under verification: 15 in the National Capital Region (NCR), five in Calabarzon, and one each in the Ilocos Region and BARMM.

The NDRRMC also reported two confirmed injuries in Northern Mindanao. Four injuries in the Cordillera Administrative Region and two missing persons in Ilocos and Northern Mindanao are still being verified.

The calamity has affected 1,240,090 families (4,553,752 individuals) across 3,854 barangays. Currently, 38,292 families (152,800 individuals) are in 848 evacuation centers, while 134,235 families (641,944 individuals) are receiving aid outside these centers. A total of 1,598 houses have been damaged across 15 regions.

The estimated damage to infrastructure is PHP 1.69 billion, and to agriculture, PHP 355.6 million.
