MANILA — Former president Rodrigo Duterte denied the statement of his daughter Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, saying that the former and his two sons will run for Senate.
“Maniwala kayo kay Inday? I-jamming ka niyan nang husto… San ka nakakita, tatay at dalawang anak magtakbo [bilang senador],” Duterte said.
“Wag kayong kumagat kay Inday kasi ‘yan si Inday kagaya ko rin ‘yan,” he added.
The former president also said that he will not go back to politics, saying that he has no financial capacity to do so.
“Hindi na ako babalik ng politika. Tapos na po ako. Laos na ako. Wala na akong panggastos, wala na lahat. Ang naiwan sa akin siguro yabang,” Duterte said.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. earlier commented on the announcement of Duterte-Carpio about the possible run of three Dutertes. He said, “It’s a free country.”
“They’re allowed to do what it is they want,” Marcos was quoted as saying when news broke out of the Dutertes’ intention to run for three senate seats.
