MANILA – Some areas in the country will experience rains due to easterlies and the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, the weather bureau said Thursday (06 Mar 2025).

Scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will prevail across Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, and moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned.

Batanes will experience isolated light rains caused by “amihan”.

Due to the easterlies, the rest of the country will experience isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA forecaster Chenel Dominguez said no low pressure area and tropical cyclone was monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

She said the easterlies affecting a huge part of the country will cause warm and humid weather.

Up to 34 °C temperature is forecast in Metro Manila; and up to 33 °C in Tuguegarao and Iloilo.

The temperature in Puerto Princesa, Zamboanga and Davao may reach up to 32 °C.

PAGASA, meanwhile, forecast strong winds and rough seas to prevail across extreme Northern Luzon.

The rest of Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
