Globe is enhancing connectivity across Cebu’s travel hotspots acclaimed for their natural beauty, cultural heritage, and adventure tourism. This enriches the experience of both locals and visitors while supporting the growth of the province’s local industries.

The new cell towers are positioned in strategic locations, including Brgy. Cantabaco in Toledo City, Brgy. Esperanza in Poro, Brgy. Maya in Daanbantayan, Brgy. Tabagak in Madridejos, and Brgy. Linao in Talisay City.

“Globe is committed to bridging the digital divide and delivering world-class connectivity in the country, ensuring communities have access to advanced digital infrastructure, providing opportunities for growth,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering.

“By improving internet access in Cebu’s key tourist areas, we’re not only enhancing the experience for visitors but also opening up new opportunities for local communities,” he said.

Brgy. Cantabaco, Toledo City

Known as the Philippines’ ultimate climbing destination, Brgy. Cantabaco attracts adventurers from around the world. However, the mountainous terrain hinders signal strength, creating challenges for communication.

The new Globe infrastructure enables climbers to share their experiences and communicate in real time, greatly enhancing their adventure. It also bridges the digital divide for the nearly 10,000 residents, providing essential support for students in their academic pursuits.

Brgy. Esperanza, Poro

As the gateway to the Camotes Islands, Brgy. Esperanza is rich in history and eco-tourism attractions such as marine sanctuaries. Improved connectivity brought about by the new Globe tower is expected to drive more tourist traffic to the community, supporting local businesses and its over 3,400 residents.

The facility covers key areas such as the Esperanza Barangay Hall, Lucky Farm Aloguinsan Mj, Lola Hermenia’s Place, Maktang Beach, Buho Rock Resort, and Tangub Cave.

Brgy. Maya, Daanbantayan

Daanbantayan is famous for its pristine white sandy beaches and world-class diving spots, such as Malapascua Island.

With the new tower in Brgy. Maya, tourists can effortlessly share their beach photos and diving adventures online.  Local fishermen and farmers as well as the barangay’s 10,000 residents also benefit from better access to information and services.

The tower also supports essential services such as early warning systems and emergency response in the typhoon-prone municipality.

Brgy. Tabagak, Madridejos

In Madridejos, the new tower in Brgy. Tabagak will serve over 2,000 residents, primarily supporting the local fishing industry and showcasing the area’s picturesque coastal landscapes and beautiful beaches.

Brgy. Linao, Talisay City

Despite being an urbanized area, Talisay City boasts a rich historical heritage and agricultural roots. The tower in Brgy. Linao, with its population of nearly 10,000, provides improved connectivity to support the barangay’s growing status as a tourist destination.

The enhanced network caters to the city’s expanding residential areas, trading centers, and various tourist attractions including hotels, recreational centers, and food establishments.

As Cebu continues to cement its position as a premier tourist destination in the Philippines, Globe’s network expansion plays a vital role in ensuring that the province can meet the growing demands of both its residents and visitors.

By bridging the connectivity gap, Globe is not only enhancing the tourist experience but also contributing to the sustainable economic development of these communities.
