MANILA — Senate President Chiz Escudero on Tuesday (30 July 2024) criticized the Philippine National Police (PNP) for failing to locate suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Escudero described the situation as embarrassing, noting that the Bureau of Immigration has stated that both individuals are still in the country.
Despite this, Escudero emphasized that funding for the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation should not be reduced.
Authorities have been searching for Guo due to her repeated failure to attend Senate hearings. Despite her absences, Guo has consistently sent explanation letters to the Senate.
