MANILA — Fair weather with isolated rain showers is forecasted to dominate most areas of the Philippines on Tuesday (12 March 2024), according to the latest report from the weather bureau.
Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) mentioned, “With the exception of cloud clusters potentially bringing rainfall to the eastern portions of Central and Southern Luzon and Mindanao, generally fair conditions with sporadic rain showers are anticipated across the nation.”
PAGASA emphasized the absence of any tropical cyclones expected to form or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
However, Davao Region, Caraga, Aurora, and Quezon are anticipated to encounter scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the influence of the easterlies. The bureau cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these regions might lead to flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will induce isolated light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region.
Both the easterlies and localized thunderstorms are anticipated to trigger isolated rain showers across the rest of the archipelago.
For maritime conditions, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected over Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, according to PAGASA.
