MANILA — A painting of Fernando Amorsolo has been stolen from the Hofileña Museum in Silay City in Negros Occidental, the Silay Heritage office said.
Amorsolo’s painting “Mango Harvesters” (1936) was reportedly the item that was stolen.
Silay Heritage asked the public to help in the recovery of the art piece and report to the police if they received any information about the painting.
“Please help in the recovery of this important piece of Philippine art,” it said in a Facebook post.
The said museum houses paintings from renowned artists such as Amorsolo, Juan Luna, and Felix Resurrecion Hidalgo.
