MANILA – Fresh off a stellar performance at the GAP Challenge 2025 in Manila, Italy-based Filipina gymnast Jhodelle Chavez is setting her sights on the Italy National Championships next month.
The 12-year-old rising star dominated the High Performance 4 category, clinching gold in beam, silver in uneven bars and all-around, and bronze in floor exercise.
“This competition was very important for Jody,” said her mother, Jonalyn Chavez, in a phone interview. “We were only here for 10 days just for this event, but she has more international competitions this year.”
Jhodelle, who has won three consecutive national titles in Italy, will return to Riccione in May to defend her crown.
