Globe Business solidifies its role as the trusted digital partner for the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector with the launch of “The Breakthrough: A Webinar on Cultivating a Digital Mindset for the Future-Driven Financial Institution.”
The two-part webinar series is a follow-up to “The Breakthrough: A World of Financial Possibilities.” Both were aimed at upskilling BFSIs, including micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), by sharing the latest technological advancements and best practices in digital transformation.
Led by industry leaders and tech experts, the session focused on Open Finance. It offered valuable insights to help organizations confidently adopt new technologies, enhancing customer experience and cyber resilience.
Joms Lapira, from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), discussed the future of financial institutions and the importance of embracing digital transformation.
“There is significant growth within the MSME space where it is very timely to innovate,” Lapira said.
He emphasized that digital transformation is now a necessity for economic progress. He also outlined BSP’s support for digitalization through initiatives like the Open Finance Framework and Regulatory Sandbox.
Red Nadela of GCash focused on driving efficiency in finance through emerging technologies. “Building simpler banking and financial operations starts with identifying customer-centric problems,” he said.
Nadela highlighted how digitalization facilitates the daily monitoring of transactions and data, uncovering new business opportunities.
“Digitized payments are anchored on the shift of customer behavior and ease of ‘cash’ handling,” he added.
Ed Joson, Chief Product Officer at Tonik Bank, addressed enhancing customer experience to drive acquisition success. “The advantage of being digital is that we can create new products that are not yet in the market, we can scale our offerings fast,” he explained.
Joson emphasized the importance of establishing accessible, community-grounded customer touchpoints to improve feedback and engagement and build an anti-digital fraud service.
“When you build your business, you are part of the chain of security. It is important that you know how to protect yourselves,” he concluded.
