MANILA — Saying that the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. is on the right track, Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. on Tuesday (9 April 2024) lauded the recent OCTA Research survey showing that 31% of Filipinos support the PBBM administration while only 20% of Filipinos support the Duterte family and their allies.
A dismal 4% of Filipinos are backing the opposition composed of the remnants of the erstwhile ruling Liberal Party (LP), social democrats, and a few disgruntled national democrats.
“We welcome the survey result that says President Marcos Jr. enjoys the support of a large part of the population.
He pointed out that the gains of the PBBM administration in prioritizing the welfare of Filipinos can be gleaned from the support indicated in the OCTA Research survey.
Gonzales Jr. said the House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, will continue to support the legislative agenda of Marcos Jr.
At the same time, he said the lower chamber of Congress will continue to find ways to respond to the challenges of the Chief Executive of bringing government services closer to the people.
“I believe this show of support for President Marcos Jr. will only encourage his administration and us here at the House to tirelessly work for the welfare of Filipinos and the nation.
OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa survey for the first quarter was conducted from March 11 to 14 with 1,200 respondents nationwide and a margin of error of ±3% at a 95 percent confidence level.
It showed that about 29 percent of the respondents are considered independents and have no support for the president and his administration, the Dutertes, and the opposition, while the remaining 15% do not know who to support or refuse to answer.
