HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL for the Philippines after it got the 43rd spot in the overall ranking of the “best countries” in the world for the year 2023.
Not too bad because in 2022 the Philippines placed 46th out of 85 countries with an overall score of 23.1 out of possible 100 in the latest annual Best Countries report by Washington, D.C.-based digital media company U.S. News and World Report.
Switzerland remains the world’s best country, followed by Canada, Sweden, Australia, and the United States.
Meanwhile, according to the World Happiness Report 2023, the Philippines is the 76th happiest country in the world.
It said the report was based on average life assessments from 2020 to 2022. (ai/MNM)
