MANILA — The easterlies and the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will continue to bring rain showers across various regions of the Philippines, according to the weather bureau.

The easterlies will trigger scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will affect Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall that could lead to flash floods or landslides.

Light rains are expected in the rest of Luzon, while the rest of the country may experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Strong to gale-force winds and rough seas are forecast for Northern Luzon, with moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas expected over Central Luzon and the eastern parts of Southern Luzon. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas.

No low-pressure area is expected to develop or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated.
