MANILA – The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterly winds are expected to bring rain showers to most parts of the Philippines on Wednesday (26 June 2024), according to the weather bureau.

Caraga and Davao Regions will likely see scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of Mindanao can expect isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

“Most isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will likely occur in the afternoon or evening,” stated Obet Badrina from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA also predicts the easterlies to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms anticipated over the rest of the country.

The weather bureau warned that flash floods and landslides are possible during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected to persist nationwide.

Badrina confirmed that no significant weather disturbances are expected to develop or enter the country within the next three days.
