MANILA – Senator Lito Lapid has denied any involvement with the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in Porac, Pampanga, and has vowed to resign if evidence proves otherwise.
A native of Porac, the senator also refuted allegations made by an unnamed vlogger that he owns the 10-hectare land where the POGO hub is situated in Porac, Pampanga.
Lapid highlighted his political career, stating he served as vice-governor of Pampanga for three years, completed three terms as governor, and is currently in his fourth term as senator, with plans to run in the 2025 senatorial elections.
“I will not allow my name to be tarnished,” Lapid asserted.
In response to the false accusations, Lapid urged the Senate to include the POGO operations in Pampanga in their ongoing investigations and to hold accountable those responsible for the crimes committed under the guise of licensed POGO activities.
He also called on the National Bureau of Investigation to pursue the multiple cases filed against the unnamed vlogger.
