The Lex Leonum Fraternitas Foundation, together with Globe, recently provided supplemental feeding and device support to students and teachers of the Pagkakaisa Elementary School in Biñan, Laguna.
LLF, composed of San Beda College of Law alumni members of Lex Leonum, provided supplemental meals for 1,500 students at the public school, while Globe donated seven laptops to the school faculty.
The feeding program is a regular outreach program of the LLF to alleviate the conditions of impoverished students and inspire them to reach their dreams and full potential. It is the aspiration of the LLF to spearhead this activity so that others may follow and enable the students to go to school without the thought of hunger.
Globe, on the other hand, has long been a staunch supporter of education, pushing forth literacy as a means to eradicate poverty and promote a safe online environment.
Myrna Palma, Principal at Pagkakaisa Elementary School, said the laptops from Globe will be distributed to the seven grade levels– from kindergarten to Grade 6- and will be made available to teachers who do not have their own computers.
Froilan Castelo, Globe Group General Counsel and LLF chairman, led the activity, along with other members of the organization: Atty. Jan Vitug, Atty. Miko Alivia and Atty. Allan Jocson, members of the LLF Executive Committee; and Steve Naguiat, who represented Biñan City Rep. Marilyn Alonte.
