MANILA — The Liberal Party on Saturday (22 June 2024) said it respects the decision of former Vice President Leni Robredo not to run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections.
“The Liberal Party of the Philippines fully respects former Vice President Leni Robredo’s decision not to seek a Senate seat in the upcoming 2025 elections,” the party stated in a prepared statement.
Robredo previously announced her decision not to run for senator, preferring instead to pursue a mayoral bid in Naga City.
The Liberal Party expressed their best wishes for Robredo’s future endeavors.
“We wish her success and prosperity, whatever path she chooses to take,” the party said.
“We will always look up to her, not only as an exemplary leader but also as an inspiration in facing challenges and addressing the needs of our fellow citizens.”
