MANILA – A low pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility will continue to cause scattered rains over parts of the country, the weather bureau reported on Friday.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was located 95 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. While it is unlikely to intensify into a tropical cyclone, the LPA will bring rains and thunderstorms to Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides.

Elsewhere, the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will persist throughout the archipelago.
