MANILA – A low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted 645 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Wednesday (26 Mar 2025).
While the LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, it will cause moderate to heavy rains in Central and Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Siquijor. PAGASA warned that flash floods and landslides are possible in these areas.
Meanwhile, the easterlies will continue to bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms to the rest of the country. Severe thunderstorms may also lead to localized flooding or landslides.
PAGASA forecasts light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions nationwide.
