MANILA — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) issued an order for the immediate closure of an illegal recruitment agency situated along Ninoy Avenue in Paranaque City on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Heading the operation for the agency’s closure were DMW Undersecretary Officer in Charge, Hans Leo Cacdac, along with Usec. Bernard Olalia and Director Geraldine Mendez of the Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB).
A formal notice of closure was affixed to the recruitment agency’s entrance.
The DMW has called upon the public to validate job opportunities with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to safeguard themselves against the deceptive practices of illegal recruitment agencies. (ai/mnm)
