Vientiane, Laos – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met on October 8, 2024, during the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits to deepen bilateral ties, focusing on economic cooperation, particularly in trade and agriculture.
Both leaders emphasized their commitment to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Philippines-Vietnam Strategic Partnership in 2025 by enhancing collaboration in key sectors.
Marcos also extended his condolences for the losses Vietnam experienced due to Typhoon Yagi and the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Marcos is in Laos for the four-day ASEAN summit to engage with fellow Southeast Asian leaders on various regional issues.
