MANILA — Preparations for the highly-anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) parade are in full swing, prompting the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to initiate a clearing operation on various roads in Caloocan and Malabon four days before the grand event.
In a noteworthy departure from tradition, this year’s parade will traverse the CAMANAVA region, necessitating strategic road closures to ensure a smooth and secure celebration.
MMDA Special Operations Group Strike Force officer-in-charge, Gabriel Go, emphasized the significance of this morning’s clearing operation, stating, “Specifically ngayong umaga Tuesday (12 Dec 2023), we will be clearing yung CAMANAVA area in preparation for the MMFF this coming weekend, so maraming road closures dyan sa CAMANAVA at marami rin tayong alternate routes na inihanda.”
Scheduled for December 16, the parade route will commence with MMDA personnel navigating Old Samson Road in Caloocan before extending to C3 Road and C4 Road in Malabon.
During this operation, a total of 48 illegal parking were identified and flagged by the MMDA.
Gabriel Go further outlined the agency’s commitment to daily clearing operations in the Mabuhay lanes, ensuring that the festival’s festivities proceed seamlessly.
