MANILA — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) announced on Wednesday (January 15, 2025) that there is no budget allocated for medical and burial assistance this year.

“There is no approved budget for the Medical and Burial Assistance Program of the Office of the Vice President under the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA),” the OVP said in a statement.

“We apologize for the inconvenience.”

The 2025 GAA allocated P733 million to the OVP, a reduction of P1.29 billion from its original allocation of P2.037 billion.

The budget cut was initially made by the House of Representatives, and the Senate adopted its version.
