MANILA — Senator Robin Padilla called for ongoing assistance to the victims of the Marawi siege.
Padilla made the appeal during the Senate Special Committee on Marawi City Rehabilitation and Victims’ Compensation hearing on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Mga Muslim sa Marawi at buong Lanao ay biktima ng dayuhang ideolohiyang ito,” he said, adding that the aid will not go to waste because Muslims, especially the Maranaos, are skilled in business and can use the support to fully recover.
The senator also expressed his gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for continuing to provide compensation to those affected by the 2017 conflict.
He also thanked Senators Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Francis Tolentino, and Bong Go for their ongoing support of Marawi’s compensation efforts.
