MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has approved an increase in gratuity pay for Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers in the government, raising the amount by ₱7,000.
The increase will be implemented starting December 15.
“Granting a year-end gratuity pay to COS and JO workers is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and valuable participation in the implementation of various government programs, projects, and activities, as well as their pivotal role in delivering government services amidst the present socio-economic challenges,” said Marcos.
Under Administrative Order 28, workers who have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service as of December 15 are entitled to the increased gratuity pay. Those with active contracts as of the same date are also eligible.
According to the Department of Budget and Management, the last adjustment in gratuity pay occurred in 2021, when the rate was increased from ₱3,000 to ₱5,000.
