MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is scheduled to embark on a two-day state visit to Australia next week, from February 28 to 29, 2024.
Marcos is expected to deliver an address at the Australian Parliament, focusing on the vision for the Strategic Partnership between the Philippines and Australia signed in 2023.
During his visit, the President will hold separate meetings with senior officials from Australia to discuss regional issues, trade, investments, people-to-people exchanges, multilateral cooperation, and defense and security.
New agreements in areas of shared interest are anticipated to be signed, further strengthening the robust partnership between the Philippines and Australia and enhancing interactions for mutual capacity building.
This year marks the 78th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Australia, to be celebrated in November.
