MANILA — Senator Grace Poe said the Senate plenary debates on the proposed 2025 national budget are set to conclude on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

“Today is the last day of the budget debates, according to the agreed schedule,” Poe, chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, said.

“But it won’t move to second reading immediately, as we need to give senators time to prepare their amendments based on the plenary debates,” she added.

In a letter addressed to Senate President Chiz Escudero, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. certified House Bill No. 10800 as an urgent measure for passage.

“[T]o ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical government functions, guarantee the allocation of fiscal resources for vital initiatives, and enable the government to adeptly respond to emerging challenges,” Marcos said.

The proposed budget for 2025 is P6.352 trillion.
