MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy 40,151 officers nationwide under “Oplan Ligtas SumVac 2025” to ensure public safety during Holy Week and the summer vacation period.
PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil assured readiness to maintain peace and order, urging the public to stay vigilant, cooperate, and report suspicious activities.
Police will intensify checkpoint operations and patrols at transport hubs, airports, and seaports. The campaign targets secure travel for families, tourists, and events during the summer season, including Holy Week and national observances.
With an increase in travel and potential threats from criminal groups, the PNP will also implement the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (E-MPO) Strategy, focusing on patrols, security checks, and coordination with local authorities.
Police assistance desks will be set up at key locations, and road safety measures will be strictly enforced. Marbil emphasized the importance of securing homes before vacations and following safety guidelines in crowded areas.
