MANILA — Senator Grace Poe has praised the decision to extend the operating hours of the Light Rail Transit (LRT)-1 starting on Wednesday, March 26.
“The extended operating hours of the MRT and LRT provide a much-needed respite for our commuters,” Poe said in a statement on Tuesday (March 25, 2025).
“Tired and weary from work, our kababayans taking the train often rush to catch the last trip home.”
However, the senator emphasized that the extended hours should be supported by enhanced security, help desks, and well-maintained facilities to ensure a comfortable and convenient ride for commuters.
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that the last train from Dr. A. Santos Avenue in Parañaque City will depart at 10:30 p.m., while the last train from Fernando Poe Jr. Station in Quezon City will leave at 10:45 p.m.
