MANILA – Three weather systems—the shear line, easterlies, and northeast monsoon—will continue to bring rains across parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Saturday (22 Mar 2025).

The Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line. Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring similar conditions to Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Bangsamoro, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan.

The northeast monsoon will cause cloudy skies and rains in Bicol, Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of Mimaropa. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have isolated light rains, while the rest of Mindanao may experience rain showers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds and rough seas will prevail in Luzon and the Visayas, with Mindanao seeing lighter winds and calmer seas.

Additionally, PAGASA cautioned against a “dangerous” heat index, with Dagupan City expected to reach 42°C and Cotabato City at 43°C.
