MANILA – Several regions in the Philippines will continue to experience rainfall on Tuesday (14 Jan 2025) due to the influence of three weather systems.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that scattered rains and thunderstorms, driven by the easterlies, are expected to affect Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will bring persistent rains to Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Quezon.

In addition, the combination of the “amihan” and the shear line will result in moderate to heavy rainfall over Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon. PAGASA has warned that these conditions could trigger flash floods and landslides in affected areas.

While the rest of Luzon will experience isolated light rains due to “amihan,” the rest of the country is likely to encounter isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

Strong to gale-force winds, accompanied by rough to very rough seas, are expected in Northern Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas. The remaining parts of Luzon and the Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

In contrast, Mindanao will see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, according to PAGASA.
