MANILA — Rains will continue affecting parts of the Philippines, including Metro Manila, on Wednesday (11 Dec 2024) due to the influence of three weather systems.

The shear line impacting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to areas such as Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes. Heavy to intense rainfall is expected in Quezon and Camarines Norte, while Aurora will experience moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

The northeast monsoon (“amihan”) will bring rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao. PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains in these regions may lead to flash floods or landslides.

Additionally, the easterlies will bring isolated light rains to the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region. The rest of the country may experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Winds will be moderate to strong, with moderate to rough seas forecast for Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao. Other regions will see light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA advises the public to remain cautious of possible hazards associated with heavy rains.
