MANILA — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has extended a warm welcome to the recent appointments of Assistant Secretary Eliseo D.C. Cruz and Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Commissioner Elihu A. Ybañez.
Remulla encouraged the new appointees to “maintain the burning passion in our hearts to selflessly serve our countrymen” and to be “fresh faces for a Bagong Pilipinas.”
Cruz, a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and a retired major general of the Philippine National Police (PNP), brings 37 years of service to his new role. Notably, he spearheaded the investigation into the P6.7-billion drug haul in Manila several years ago.
Meanwhile, PCGG Commissioner Ybañez is a former Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals (CA) with extensive experience as a litigator.
“Forge ahead with determination, pride, and integrity,” emphasized the Secretary.
“I eagerly anticipate collaborating with you to advance justice in our nation. Your wealth of experience in your respective fields will undoubtedly catalyze meaningful reforms within this Department,” Remulla added.
