MANILA — Former Vice President Leni Robredo has confirmed that she will not be running for senator in the 2025 midterm elections.
Robredo stated that she has already informed the Liberal Party of her decision to close the door on a senatorial bid.
“I have made my decision and informed the LP. That’s why I informed the LP that I will not run for the Senate,” the former vice president said.
She indicated that she is leaning towards running for a local position — specifically, mayor of Naga City.
Congressman Edcel Lagman previously mentioned that Robredo is considering running for mayor of Naga City to continue the programs of her late husband.
“Our last conversation was that she (Robredo) will run as mayor of Naga City to continue the programs of her late husband,” Lagman said.
