MANILA — Despite the political noise and conflicts that sought to divide the Filipino nation, Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Tuesday (24 December 2024), the eve of Christmas day, praised the resilience of the Filipinos and their spirit of unity, compassion, and faith that has remained steadfast.
“Christmas reminds us of what truly matters—faith, family, and compassion. It is a time to rise above our differences and focus on the shared values that make us one people. Ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko ay hindi nasusukat sa materyal na bagay kundi sa pagbibigay ng pag-asa, pagmamahal, at pagkakaisa,” Romualdez said.
As the nation celebrates the joyous season, the Speaker extended his “heartfelt Christmas greetings to every Filipino family, wherever you may be in the world.”
“This season is a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection—a moment to honor the love and unity that bind us as a nation,” Romualdez said.
He also noted the resilience of the Filipino in the face of devastating typhoons and calamities.
“This year has not been easy, particularly for those who have faced loss and hardship from successive calamities. Yet, in these difficult times, we have witnessed countless acts of kindness and bayanihan that inspire and strengthen our community. Guided by God’s grace and the unwavering resilience of the Filipino people, we have overcome many challenges together,” Romualdez said.
