MANILA — The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Atty. Raul Lambino to show cause why he should not face administrative charges for allegedly spreading false information.

He was given a non-extendible period of 10 days from receipt of the notice to respond.

In a Facebook Live broadcast on March 11, 2025, Atty. Lambino falsely claimed that the SC had issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the arrest of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The SC said the misinformation caused public confusion and misled the public regarding the Court’s actions.

The directive was issued during the SC’s en banc session held last Tuesday, April 2.

It may be recalled that Lambino publicly announced that the SC had issued a TRO in connection with the alleged arrest of former president Duterte by Interpol.
