MANILA – The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies are set to bring rain to various parts of the Philippines on Wednesday (03 July 2024), according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.

Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan: Expect scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region: The easterlies will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms could lead to flash floods and landslides in these areas. Elsewhere in the country, fair weather will prevail, with isolated rain showers from localized thunderstorms.

The entire archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina noted a low chance of a tropical cyclone developing or entering the country in the next few days. Two to three tropical cyclones are anticipated this month.
