MANILA — House Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre told Kingdom of Jesus Christ Pastor Apollo Quiboloy that he is not above the law, stressing that “being appointed Son of God” does not make him above the law.

“I don’t think being an appointed Son of God puts you above the law. I’m sure no one is above the law,” Acidre said.

“Believe me he’s a pastor he commands a strong, a good number of people around the world he knows what he’s doing, he knows that he’s clearly defying the law. He knows that he’s injuring the political system that we have in place disrespecting the authorities. I think he will be made accountable at the right time,” Acidre added.

Earlier, a subpoena was issued against Quiboloy for him to attend hearing on March 12.

The hearing will be the investigation of alleged violations by Swara Sug Media Corporation of its franchise and revocation of the said corporation.

The Senate has also issued a subpoena against the pastor on the issues of alleged child abuse and human trafficking after he has failed to attend a number of hearings of the upper house.
