MANILA — House Deputy Speaker Jayjay Suarez is hopeful that the Capas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 109 will permit dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo to attend the Quad-Com hearing on September 12.
“We will make the same request, and I hope the RTC will extend the same courtesy as it did for the Senate,” Suarez said when asked if they would seek Guo’s participation in the hearing.
Suarez emphasized the importance of Guo’s involvement in shedding light on issues surrounding the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
“Her presence is crucial. Alice Guo has a lot to answer for regarding the POGO issue, as she is emerging as a key resource person who can provide insight into how POGO operations functioned, not only in Bamban, Tarlac, but nationwide,” the lawmaker added.
Earlier, the RTC granted the Senate’s request for Guo to attend their hearing on September 9.
