OLONGAPO CITY — Just like the proverbial last two minutes of a basketball game, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Subic under District Collector Atty. Ricardo U. Morales II, CESE, made a fastbreak by surpassing the collection target, with an actual total collection of P4.391 billion for June this year.

Deputy Collector for Assessment Andrew Malcolm S. Calixihan said that with the P4.141 billion assigned collection target for June 2024, the surplus collection was P250.28 million.

“Kumbaga sa basketball, kahit half-shot ang lamang ay panalo pa rin,” Subic Customs insiders quipped.

To recall, the BOC-POS exceeded its collection target before May ends.

As of 21 May 2024, the Port of Subic has successfully collected P4.171 billion, surpassing the monthly goal of P4.094 billion.

Customs Operations Officer V Jose Rommel “JR” A. Abac noted that this accomplishment represents a surplus of P77 million or an increase of 1.88% over the target.
