MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Friday (18 Oct 2024) that a cloud cluster outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a low pressure area (LPA). However, it is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.
Despite this, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rain to large parts of the country. Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, BARMM, and several provinces in Davao, including Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Sur.
The ITCZ will also cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Mindanao. Residents in these areas should remain alert as PAGASA warns of possible flash floods or landslides during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds and calm to moderate seas are expected nationwide.

MANILA – The country can expect generally fair weather on Wednesday, though isolated rain showers are likely, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
Easterlies affecting Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will bring scattered rain showers or thunderstorms. Localized thunderstorms could also cause brief rain showers in other areas across the country.
While these thunderstorms may bring light rain, severe instances could potentially lead to flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.
No low-pressure area (LPA) has been detected, based on PAGASA’s latest monitoring, indicating no immediate threat of larger weather disturbances.
Despite the scattered rains, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected to prevail throughout the archipelago.

MANILA – Isolated rain showers will continue to affect most parts of the country, according to the weather bureau on Thursday (10 Oct 2024).
Cloudy skies with occasional rains are expected in Batanes, Apayao, and Cagayan, primarily due to the northeasterly wind flow, said Benison Estareja, weather specialist from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Estareja noted, “Localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country,” leading to isolated rain showers.
Despite the wet conditions, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions will remain across the archipelago.

MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience fair weather with isolated rain showers, according to a weather forecaster on Wednesday (09 Oct 2024).
“The low-pressure area we’ve been monitoring has dissipated. The tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is unlikely to enter,” said Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
However, the northeasterly surface wind flow affecting extreme Northern Luzon is expected to bring isolated light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
“The rest of the country will have generally fair weather,” Aurelio added, though isolated rain showers may still occur due to localized thunderstorms.
Additionally, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecast across the archipelago.

However, both the LPA and the ITCZ will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas.
Moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Meanwhile, easterlies will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
The rest of the country will also experience isolated showers due to the ITCZ.
PAGASA further reported that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected nationwide.
