MANILA — For someone who claims to be the “Appointed Son of God”, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy’s continuing defiance to the rule of law is, ironically, in stark contrast to the humble surrender of Jesus Christ to the authorities during his time as narrated by the Christian Bible.

Short of saying that Quiboloy is wittingly using his fanatic members of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) as a human shield, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday appealed to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Apollo Quiboloy to spare his followers from ’emotional heart aches” as authorities continue the ongoing search for the embattled spiritual adviser of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inside his 30-heactare property in Davao City.

“Ang patuloy nating pakiusap kay Pastor Quiboloy, na spare his supporters, spare them of the emotional heart aches… Ibigay niya na ‘yung hinihingi ng korte. Bibigyan naman siya ng pagkakataon na sagutin ang mga reklamong isinampa sa kanya”, PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo appealed to Quiboloy during an interview on Super Radyo DZBB.

On the other hand, in a separate radio interview Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) regional director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III belied some KOJC members’ claim that they got hurt after police allegedly fired tear gas upon them when they entered the compound on Saturday (24 August 2024).

“May mga pinabugahan nila (KOJC members) ng fire extinguisher at biglang tumakbo ‘yung tao na nagbuga kaya hindi na nahabol,” Torre III said.

Also on Saturday, one KOJC member died during the police operation reportedly due to heart attack.

“Ang allegation ay inatake sa puso. Undergoing ang ating autopsy dito,” Torre III said.
